Which browser is best-suited for

Some players praise for its stability and speed, while the others complain about connection problems and the gameplay being too slow. What makes the difference?

Satisfied players use Chrome or Firefox, while the rest are Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 users.

Internet Explorer might be an adequate option for static web pages, but it has problems with dynamic ones. It does not conform to certain standards and does not support the new technology used to make running. It is in our interest that Internet Explorer users had quality access to, but old and ineffective technologies of these browsers cannot compete with those used in Chrome or Firefox.

Running test gave these results:

Browser Ø ping
Chrome 0.084 s
Firefox 4 0.207 s
IE 9 0.591 s
IE 8 0,641 s

Tests were run on the same computer, roughly at the same time. Thus, the browsers had equal conditions.  As you can see, Chrome had by far the lowest ping, even greatly surpassing that of Firefox 4.

One of the factors that make connection (and therefore gameplay) using Chrome faster and smoother is the utilization of new technology called WebSockets. This new technology allows swifter communication with the server in comparison to Reverse Ajax used in other browsers.

In order to make your connection fast and stable, we would like to recommend you using Chrome while playing chess at

The installation is simple, will only take a few minutes and Chrome can be easily downloaded here.

when i first joined i used IE8. this caused me to lose my first 2 games as it continually aborted and lost connection after a few minutes so i could not complete my games.
Since switching to Firefox i have not had a repeat of this problem

Wouldn’t be wrofendul if your theory worked out? Unfortunately land in Japan has never been abundant. Its been a mountainous crowded place for a long time. Take a look at Conrad Totman’s classic The Green Archipelago.
