On Thursday, 11th October, Play Against Kasparov tournament has taken place at ChessFriends.com. The attendance hit the record – 127 players from 20 countries took the opportunity to win a ticket to Kasparov’s simul. Dominance of two players, namely holy91 (Czech Republic) and Exar (Ukraine) was evident. Both attained eight victories and a mutual draw. The winner thus had to be chosen by additional scoring, utilizing the Median-Buchholz System.

The ticket to the simul against Garry Kasparov was offered to four next players, from which all have refused it. Therefore, sixth player in final standings, Mato2303 will be playing in tomorrow’s simul.

We would like to wish Mato2303 an interesting game against Kasparov. Good luck!

he only socred points by setting up fortresses (drawing with the 50-move rule) and by flagging the computer. He said they’ve speeded it up since at one point in this video Kramnik jokes that the robot should be ashamed of itself for trying to win on time!Shipov also said the robot’s creator had the idea of getting the robot to play the winner of the Blitz World Championship so maybe we can look forward to Aronian v the Terminator!
