Tal’s Memorial, 6th Round: Draws Everywhere, for the Third Time

All games of the sixth round of Tal’s Memorial ended tied, but spectators could not have been bored. The highlight of the round, Karjakin’s positional sacrifice of Queen near the beginning of the game did not bring any significant advantage, thus the game ended in a draw.

Svidler, playing black against Norwegian Carlsen, has attained a considerable initiative after white’s not performed well in his innovation. By playing precisely, Carlsen foiled every one of Svidler’s threats. The players divided points in effect.
